Are you "atheist" against goblins, so you do not believe they exist.

or

Are you "agnostic" against goblins, so they may or may not exist, it's just as likely?

What about Unicorns? Trolls? Faries? Gnomes? Hobits? Do you treat God differently form these creatures, and if so, why?

  1. I believe these are mythical creatures.

Hobbits were invented by Tolkien, who also included other mythical beings in his work.

Some of them can be explained, e.g. the legend of dwarves arose from people who worked underground, mining iron or other metals. They probably started work at an age which would still be considered childhood in modern times and the life underground would have stunted their growth.  Despite this, they would have had a strong constitution. As well as mining the metal, they would have learnt other skills such as smelting and working it into weapons, tools, etc.

Wizards no doubt had their origins in the Druids of ancient Celtic times, who had knowledge of medicine and other matters which ordinary folk did not possess, and so appeared to the uninitated to have magical powers.

I'm agnostic, I enjoy reading Tolkien and other works but to me they're just stories.

  2. I have a pet goblin.

  3. I like fantasy novels better than the bible or qoran.  I do not believe in either god or hobbits.  But god is an annoying character.  Fairies and the such are usually in fun stories I like.   God usually is a bore.  I prefer the little folk to the deity personified as a big grumpy old man.

Frodo and Bilbo are cool.  Jehovah and allah are not.

  4. What, of course they exist, haven't you watched or read LOTR?

Where you been all this time?

  5. Goblins aren't gods.

They have nothing to do with atheism or gnosticism.

  6. Goblins: A-goblinist.

    Unicorns: A-unicornist.

    Trolls: A-trollist.

    Fairies: A-fairyist.

    Gnomes: A-gnomist.

    Hobits: A-hobitist.

    The Christian "God": Atheist.

Every other deity out there: Atheist.

    Happy now..?

I still firmly believe in the existence of trolls on THIS forum, though!

    =D

  7. wel goblins unlikly trolls are nearly certain tho

  8. i dont believe in most mythical creatures, so no i dont treat god any differnt to those

  9. the man who sits outside my office looks like a Goblin...i firmly believe in them...

  10. I am agnostic in regards to:

    Goblins

    Gnomes

    Trolls

    Unicorns

But I have complete faith in the existence of fairies. The scary part of my answer is that's it's not really far from the truth! I'd much rather believe in fairies than some omnipotent bearded man.

  11. Look ! It's Haifa ! She knows all atheists have incomplete reproductive parts b/c she's gone down on all of us. Thanks Haifa ! As for your question: I believe in Unicorns, Fairies, Gnomes (trolls and gnomes go hand in hand) and Hobbits. However, I don't believe in 'God' b/c that actually makes even less sense. You see the existence of 'God' has been disproven. It's a simple matter of realizing that no one who is all powerfull gives a d**n about us or things would be a lot better. A 3 year old could do it. That we've all been too bamboozled to simply remember the most basic reason for disbelief and then realize that, with the given definition of 'God' as omnipotent and benevolent, it disproves 'God' simply shows us that religion has really raped our thinking at a fundamental level.

  12. "Atheist" or "agnostic" is a false dichotomy.

Edit: Yep, thumbs-down, because you know it's true.

  13. I don't believe in any of the things you listed.

  14. Are you back from la-la land now so I can explain this to you as simply as I can?

Unicorns,Trolls, Fairies, Gnomes, Hobbits, and God ....THERE ALL MAKE BELIEVE!!!!!
