Morning adventure

As Scotty & Lottie leave the den

the warm morning sun shines down on a beautiful day.

On the way to the the garden

they zig and they zag,

taking cover under various shrubs

and behind big trees

taking care not to be seen.

When they arrive

Lottie hops right in

and immediately begins munching

on peas.

Scotty hops on, just a bit farther

to try out

the strawberries.

He takes a tiny nibble at first

and immediately discovers

they're so very much sweeter

than peas!

Scotty: (In a yelling whisper) Lottie!...mmummm, mummmm...LOTTIE!!

Lottie: Hmmm...(Her mouth is full of peas.)

S: You...mummm,mummm...have got...mummm,mummm...to...try these!

Now more than a little curious,

Lottie hops over

and takes a nibble.

Soon their little whiskers and noses

are red-stained and sticky

with the luscious berry juice.

Foot steps approach.

They freeze.

  1. I will be chuckling for quite a while with the garden hose twist.

  2. Scottie and Lottie are the next "Bogart and Bacall"!

Beautifully done! I am really enjoying their adventures.

Hidden talent there Farmer!  and in his immortal words about Jelly Beans

"id be rich if they made

    a lettuce celery one!”

Think of the advertising potential, with Scottie and Lottie endorsing the product!

  3. I was wondering if you decided "to give" the garden to the bunnies ♥

  4. Too Good. Who will be handling their royalties??

  5. Each episode gets better and better.  I'm going to have to copy and paste them and get them all together in one place...to savour.  And guess what?  I'm going to read them to my four year old grandson.  I will tell him I want him to tell me (sorry about convoluted sentence) what he thinks of the story and I will report back to you.

  6. I can see those berry funny bunnies going cotton tail over tea kettle!   Then try to tell the others about portable rain!

can't wait for the continuing saga....

    a Scottie and Lottie kind?

    idk! anyway, enjoying the adventure.

  8. The garden hose is gread. Where I come from, unfortunately, it might be the .22, but never in my hands. I still think this is one of the best serial poems I have ever read on Y!A, Scottie and Lottie are brilliantly characterized; I can see the movie playing in my head when I read. Picture image, word image, and laughter...perfection.

  9. Don't know if I could resist spraying them a bit, on a hot day

they might enjoy a light sprinkle. Kids sure do.

Fun to watch the creatures, if not a ground hog, or an army of

    moles. Enjoyed the read.
