Irshad Manji, a Muslim, was threatened with death the other day when she spoke out. See the screen shot of the comment at Ummah.com

The snip:

Earlier this month, I asked you to get more involved in our mission of Muslim reform and moral courage. How? By signing the petition against death threats.

Your signatures are coming from all over the world: Algeria, Nigeria, Indonesia, India, Argentina, Pakistan, New Zealand, Poland, Finland, Italy… Here’s the up-to-date list of signatories and places from which they originate.

Thank you, my dear readers, for having guts. Courage is contagious, and your boldness will surely inspire others once they know about it.

  1. I'm not questioning your motives, but....

Do you actually think sending a petition to a group of people who would allow innocent girls to die in a burning movie theater because they couldn't get their heads covered is going to care a wit about someone else's opinion?

Some people cannot be reasoned with.

A rabid dog must be shot...

  2. This is cute - "sign a petition" while the muslim nut jobs just load more ammunition.  Negotiation and open dialogue don't work with people who have sworn to kill you.  The sooner that you realize this, the safer you will become.

  3. I hope you realize that signing a petition amidst the mindlessness that pervades all Jihadist thought is much more a symbolic thing than anything effectual.  It's like voting for Ron Paul should he run as a third party candidate- doing so expresses discontent as a statement protest, and is ultimately a vain measure.

  4. I'll do it.

  5. Petitions don't work with extremists.  They just provide more targets.
