  1. Yeah, like everybody obeys the speed limits! This is just another milquetoast attempt at trying to con people into believing Congress is 'really doing something' about the crises facing this nation. Our leadership is helpless to do anything, but they don't dare admit that!

Reducing speed limits will only result in more revenue going to the government in the form of traffic violations and fines. It's a shell game. You're being conned - again.  -RKO-  07/27/08

  2. I'm glad it was proposed.  I remember the 70's when it was reduced to 55 mph.  It was not only fuel efficient, but statistics showed there were less accidents.

  3. GOP is for control. they tell you they want freedom for American and state right and behind close doors they TAKE THEM AWAY. GOP ONLY CARE ABOUT BIG MONEY [COOPERATE MONEY] AND CONNING AMERICANS THAT THEY FOR YOU. JUST LOOK AT THERE RECORD.THERE RECORD DON'T LIE BUT THEY TELL YOU THEY DOING IT FOR AMERICAN.

  4. As the report explained, the law resulted in a 20% compliance rate. This is pandering at it's best and goes completely against conservative and libertarian mantra of limited government.  I'd expect this from a liberal but from a conservative republican?

What we need are more fuel efficient vehicles and tougher driver license issuance programs to limit the number of loonies on the road who take their need for speed a little to far.

  5. I don't think that is the GOP position. It is Warner's

OH... in agreement with Democrat Jackie Speier who has already proposed this...

if you read more that the first few (blame it on the Republicans) paragraphs.
