Are you renting a plasma screen for your reception?

To do a slideshow or something similar? How much are you paying? We met with our first DJ last night, who we liked and the pricing is reasonable, except to rent the plasma screen: $600!!!! I feel like for that amount of money we can almost BUY another TV...what do you think? How much are you spending on this?

I had two at my reception.  I didn't pay a lot at all, but the owner of the dj company is an old friend of the family's and I got lucky since they are one of the top dj companies in the country.

However, I'm glad I DID get them because everyone enjoyed it.  We had a short 5 minute slide show played on it and the rest of the time it was playing the music video of the song being played or playing back real-time pictures that were being taken during the reception.

that is expensive with that price you can buy your own TV unless you try a store like rent a center where you can rent furniture and it will cost you about $60

No. Then again, we aren't including anything that would be shown on a tv screen of any kind.

What about a projector.  I'm sure someone has connections to "borrow" one from work.

My hall comes with a pull-down screen.. like what they have in school? So, that's what we're doing... we're hooking a computer up to a projector, and shooting it that way. Good luck! :)
