society is the people around you and what you think they expect from you.

as an individual you make society what it is, so to the people who are feeling owned by society start living your life, do what you want not what someone tells you to and be happy!

everyone is ruled by society, no matter what they say. people would like to believe they control their own lives but it's really not true. whether you hold popular opinions or stand out from the crowd, you're doing it to either be accepted by society or because society taught you that way or you're doing it because you disagree with society and want to tell society that.

No one ever denies rhat society has a lot to do on how we act. And we cannot escape it. When you go to parties, you dress up "properly". When you eat, you eat "properly". When you are on the job, you work "properly". And when you are in the church, you behave "properly". What does it mean? The word properly is synonimous to what society demands of your behaviour in the presence of othe people. However, when you are at home, or alone, you sometimes revert to what you really are. This is the reason why some parents are charge of child abuse towards their children because no one is looking. You don't spank you child in the presence of other people. You do not m********e when you are with your friends. You do not curse your enemy, specially when if he or she is your boss. No way! There is such thing as inner sunctum where you do things when no one is around, knowing that certain things are not socially acceptable. Got it?

I have never managed to be acceptable to society so it had nothing for me in terms of obeying social norms and I never really managed to suss out what they were anyway -
