  1. It's wasteful.  It's less sadistic if you kill them before cooking them.  But as to making use of the animal you have prepared, that speaks to potential waste.

  2. Answer: not sadistic.  Rude.

    This is the etiquette section.

  3. I think it is a cruel and sadistic thing to boil them period.  I'm one of those guys that when I see them in a tank I want to set them free. "Run, run, the oceans that-a-way!  I've got your back! Run!"

  4. Sadistic, no.

    Rude?  No.

    Belongs in Etiquette section?  NO!!!!!!

    Have a polite day.

  5. I drive nails into their eyes and claws first.

  6. No.

  7. I wouldn't say sadistic but I would agree with wasteful.  I don't get why someone would take the time and energy to obtain lobsters, boil them but not eat them afterward.

  8. No, it's sadistic if you throw them in a microwave, turn it on, and wait for them to explode. Boiling them is frowned upon, but it's the most common way to kill the lobster. If you don't eat them, it's just wasteful.
