  1. The government works...not if you ask...80% of Americans think government doesn't work...Congress lead by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid has only a 20% approval rating.

But it is still better than the alternative...not having the freedom to write this opinion...ask the Russians if they get to criticize Putin or Medvedev...they would have no tongues.

  2. The government was designed to be highly functional for the citizens; this does not mean however that government employees who are working those jobs are doing a good job.

The USA government has become non-existent, lazy and has applied the law with prejudice in the last 20 years. It is no longer functioning for the people in a number of different aspects.

The system has a great design, the people who work it have no clue as to what their responsibility is. And that is the federal employees job.

It does not function as it was designed.

  3. A little over 230 years and we have arguably the greatest society ever devised by man. Why would anyone really want "change?"

  4. No I am not satisfied with how our government works, but the other choices you gave are not even close to an alternate.

We have allowed our government to get to this point. We have a government where the average guy can't get into politics anymore. You must have a lot of $$$$$$$$$   Lobbyists and media have far too much power.

AND now allowing the swiftboat type propaganda people take over elections because so many people are so feeble minded to believe such garbage...well we have problems...

I do not believe I'll live to see the day when elections are based on issues and the follow through government is just and looking after your average American.

  5. No, I'd rather have anarchism.

The state is murder and extortion; I oppose these things; therefore, I oppose the state.

    ****

Anarchism, in a nutshell, supports free association, opposes the state, and opposes hierarchy. (At the very least, anarchists oppose involuntary hierarchy; anarchists often try to create egalitarian alternatives to the semi-voluntary hierarchies too).

There are several different traditions which respect these values, and usually recognize each other as forms of anarchism. These traditions borrow ideas from classical liberalism, from early socialism, from each other, and sometimes from other sources.

People depend on each other. People tend to create their own voluntary social order, including free association, reciprocity, mutual aid, and, if necessary, mutual defense. Once people create this order, a state, or any other criminal gang, is in trouble. So the state, to preserve itself, must preempt voluntary social order.
