Scared of the unknown - and nobody has come back to tell us what happens.

I hate to think of not existing any more, but if I were very ill, in pain, totally dependent through paralysis I might be glad to not exist.

Everyone is scared of the unknown and to a certain extent, it is instinct to fear death. But just think of the circle of life, and that somehow to me makes it easier to comprehend.

I'm scared of the actual dying bit and leaving people behind but I'm sure when I get there I'll be ok...wherever 'there' is

Well, I used to be very scared of death. But when I started to really think about it, every single person that has ever lived has died, and that is the future for everyone. So why be afraid of something than is inevitable? The way I think of it, everyone is going to die at some point, so while we are alive we might as well do something positive with our lives.

Absolutely terriffied. I have OCD and thoughts of death are the most constant, repititive, cycling thoughts i have and  sometimes I just have to numb myself with tranquilizers or pain pills to keep from running through the streets screaming stop it!
