  1. I feel sleepy and sluggish, another is I am thirsty.  I know some people says it is because I eat too much, but even if I don't eat mcuh, if there are MSG, I feel sleepy or thirsty.

  2. i react differently to msg, depending on how little or how plenty was placed in my food. a slight reaction is dizziness. but too much of that stuff make me vomit & get hives & rashes. i also have to observe if my air passages are constricted.

  3. Sometimes when I get it at a restaurant and don't realize it until it's too late I get watery eyes and nose.  Then when I go home I end up with indigestion.  Several family members get really bad gas when they eat it so if I am going for the take-out I order no MSG so I don't have to double suffer!  I have several food allergies and I wish there was a site to talk about what people are allergic to.  My last allergy that cropped up is onions and they are in every recipe it seems.  Great question!

  4. yes I am and I just found out that I'm sensitive to it by farting alot and having to smell the farts made me realize that I was allergic to MSG so when I go out to east I ask the Waiter/waitress if they make there food with MSG and if so I say leave out the MSG plz or give me a salad.

  5. I am very sensitive to MSG, I get terrible migraine headaches easily, and MSG is one of the triggers. I love Chinese Food but I have to be real careful about where I can order from. The other thing I used to love but can no longer tolerate is "Slim Jims" or beef jerky kind of snacks,  the chemicals in that gives me instant debilitating migraines. Getting older stinks sometimes.

  6. MSG gives me screamer headaches; once, after a really heavy dose at a place that swore they never use it, got palpitations.  There is a book "IN BAD TASTE" that details all the adverse effects of MSG.  Can probably get it at Amazon.

I learned the hard way not to trust the servers- they don't know. In chains, sometimes even the cook does not know- stuff comes in a can from Iowa, and they use it.

If you call the manager, tell him you will probably die right there in his restaurant if there is MSG in his food, he will either ask you to leave or prepare a meal without it.

  7. I'm not but I know people who are and they puke...not a nice experience after eating something you just paid for.
