How stupid do they think we are? "Price too low to show". Oh, really? What's going to happen if you show me the price? Will it cause a nuclear missile launch? SHOW US THE PRICES already! We are either going to accept it or reject it! What do others think about this?

  1. If they just showed you their prices, then the marketing department wouldn't have jobs.!!!!  They have to reel you in first.

  2. agree = I hate it

  3. I agree.

    FYI: Did you know...

In England it is illegal to use "nag factors" in marketing.

In Germany, it is illegal to have sales or discounted prices.

At least, that is what I read....

  4. For some reason they think it will make people want to come to their place of business to check out how low that price really is.  the thing that is bugging me is the no interest craze, it was a pretty valid deal when they first started it 3 years ago but it has become quit laughable in my opinion.

  5. The adverts for retailers such as these are commonly known as bait and switch.

The idea behind sales is to separate the client from their monies.

With E-Commerce is the same thing, but is a little more open.

With a fixed location business, they rely on getting the consumer into or onto the property or real estate so that they will buy the advertised item, usually placed in the rear and then the consumer will pick up thos Gotta have! items that are also REDUCED! along the path to and from the Entrance/Exits.

    This is free enterprise baby!

It is also part physiological, it has been shown that once the person actually feels or touches the item, they are more inclined to purchase the item.

In this age of crediot cards or monies that I do not have, the bait and switch or loss leader tactics work well for retailers of items and goods that are not necessities.

If or when they advert with what looks like , to me, to be deceptive practices, I will never step foot in that outlet, store, shop or business.

Is usually a telephone #, call and ask, What is item X priced at, today?

If the human on the other end says I am not allowed to divulge prices of goods, I would reckon that they are not good.
