  1. Certainly not.  I just know different things.

  2. There once was a caveman whose brain

    Was frequently met with disdane

    the reason he gave

why he lived in a cave?

    'I'll never buy sub-prime again!'

(maybe that should be 'borrow' - not 'buy')

  3. Now, this is a really good question, the answer for which is still being decided, as best we can.

He didn't have space ships, electricity, bible thumpers, deceitful politicians, they had deceitful people but the deceit was not organized as it is in politics.

He was bigger than us, could survive the cold better and lived in a truly dangerous time. He probably invented sleeping all night, like us, because he found it too dangerous to venture out of his cave...at night. He got bored and finally began to sleep and over the thousands of years began to sleep for longer periods of time.

Modern medicine tells us that we do not require 7 or 8 hours of sleep at a time but we are in the habit of doing it. It probably began with the "Cave Man"!

So if some of us were immediately transported back in time , say, 70,000 years, how long would we survive?

So, are we smarter? Well we certainly process information differently because of the structure of our brain, the results of a mutation, the thing that makes evolution work.

If, on the other hand we wouldn't have lasted more than a couple of weeks back then...you decide.

My guess is that if we couldn't walk a mile in his "shoes" we might cut him a little slack as we aggrandize ourselves for the accomplishments of the very few among us.

  4. I'm not sure. Most of them, but those guys in the Geico commercial might be able to take me!

  5. As Howard Gardner pointed out, there are varied forms of intelligence.  So, in some instances, yes, I'm smarter.  But in other instances, they have us all beat.

  6. Erm... sometimes. The rest of the time, I feel like a ball of wool. :(.

  7. I find that offensive!

  8. Atuk, yes, Lars, I'm not so sure.

(Characters from the movie Caveman; in case you didn't know.)

  9. You bet. How else will I be connecting inter continentally and answering this brilliant question of yours?

  10. in some ways probably not! I can't catch my own food
