  1. of course I drive about Half as much over last year and spent  net a little less that in previous years but since the prices have gone up despite this move I have to wonder what is really happening.

  2. yes, and its not really that big of a problem staying home more and spending less because of it.  but we move virtually all of our products with semi-trucks, between other transportation modes and the retail stores for imported goods, and from the manufacturer to the store for domestic products.  so even if you can conserve for your own personal transportation, high gas prices still cost you in terms of higher prices for anything you buy that has to be shipped to where you buy it

  3. yes, staying home more and doing more walking/biking.  Spending less?  Not as a direct result of high gas prices, it is more of a result of staying home more.

  4. Yes, but I am on a fixed income (disabled) so the price of gas and groceries already was taking a toll on my budget. I have to drive 20 miles to the doctor/pharmacy once a month (I live in a very small town with no grocery store) and I try to buy for the month. The "quick mart" in my small town has bread, milk and some supplies.

I am trying to save every penny I can because I dread the propane prices coming up for the heating in winter months. There just isn't any extra money for anyone struggling to make it these days. If I could afford to buy a "Smart car" or make greener improvements to my home, I would!

  5. Tax Rebate

Recently President Bush said each one of us would get a $600.00 tax rebate. It was previously slated to be $800.00, but they dropped it to a $600.00 tax rebate because of various budget problems.

Now, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on computers, most of the money will go to Korea or India.  If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs  ..... And none of these scenarios will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America.....so the only way to do that is to drink beer, gamble, or spend it on prostitution.

Currently it seems that these are the only businesses still left in the U.S.

  6. h**l yea and it isn't right I'm sick and tired of watch the gas go up and the American spirit go down it's time for a change

  7. I have limited out of town travel and try to run errands on my way to/from work. Other than that, no.

  8. Yes.  Before the gas prices went to the $3.50+ range I decided to work at home.

  9. yes, no doubt

with it costing $90 to fill up it does not leave extra money to do fun things

  10. Yes,

I am retired on small fixed income and have no choice.

The problem is that our dollar is collapsing - that is the cause of high prices for gas and everything else.
