Discontacted

by Elaine P

Here I sit,

all alone,

empty inbox

silent phone,

where have all

my contacts gone?

The don’t call,

they don’t write,

every one

is out of sight,

without them

things are not right.

Have they all

gone off to play?

will they return

another day

and what does Yahoo

have to say?

  1. I'm back! I was away all weekend but now I am back trying to catch up on my contact's postings throughout the weekend. Hope you had a great 4th of July and weekend.

  2. Love it, I feel that way some times, keepit it up the good work.

  3. How delightful! "And you were always on my mind."

Guess we just have to adjust, whether we like it or not!

  4. well you have captured the feelings that most of us are experiencing at the moment. I for one have never had such an empty inbox, I am missing out on good questions and other mail because I am not being notified. frustration for the cause lol

Great poem * star from me

  5. I hate to think that this may be a way for YA to save money.  Maybe - by not having an auto-response system - they can cut out the expense of an additional piece of equipment - or an additional person to monitor it - or etc.? They might find they like it better this way - less hassle on their part.

I have noticed - that YA is also working on the questions that have gone to vote.  They are trying to "unlock" questions that are really old (like 2 yrs or so) that are "stuck" in unresolved - even though they have been voted on long ago. ♥

  6. Yahoo is being tight lipped about the whole thing.  It's a lovely little poem to commemorate YA's obvious lack of concern for it's patrons.

  7. Don't be blue, we're here for you, It's Y/A's version of hide and seek. I for one, am sick of playing. I want it to go back to normal fast!

  8. Yahoo is mum.  Maybe, a bit tipsy.  I am discontacted too.  This poem helps to let me know that I'm not alone.

  9. Dear Elaine, worry not

    your mental call awoke me

and to this page I came

As if your words, already said

    were ringing in my ears

    Indeed....it must be....

    A Martian thing!

  10. Here I am, I am here for you. Very cute poem.

  11. ((((HUGZ)))) for Elaine! We are still here but the YA jury is still out!

I don 't rely on the email just the My Contacts Q & A listings. They seem ok. Don't fret Sis, YArmegeddon hasn't happened.

Edit - about 40 mins ago I posted a q and I can't find it on the general home list for Poetry yet my Q & A profile says it is open. In fact it says in the Poetry category the last posting by anyone in English was 1 hour ago - I find that hard to believe.

  12. I'm around, but commenting on original poems is something I am loth to do for a number of reasons. Most of what I see is well meant but has nothing to do with poetry qua poetry; that is to say, it is focused on "content" more than "manner," but for me sophistication of rhetorical device, technical expertise and accomplishment, originality of vocabulary make poetry poetry. What is said is less relevant.

    Luck.

  13. We're here.

Stuck in the YA abyss of in appropriate actions!! A whimsical yet potent question, to ponder with my morning coffee.... I'm not sure that this poem will change matters, however, it certainly made my day!!

    Be GREAT.

  14. haaha i think it is the first poem i read like this!! it is strange a little right?

  15. "Hi!"

    Good question,

someday in the near future, they will contact our lost souls and find us once again. maybe I've answered to many end of the world questions and they may of all ran to seek refuge.

    peoples posts are disapearing now.
