It will be my first time going to an anime covention next year and I was wondering if you have to where your costume everyday you're there? I'd like to if you can, I'm not saying I don't want to but, is that normal, I don't want to seem like a idiot or anything... Also, if you have any tips for a first timer? I know some things but not many about anime conventions so it would be nice if you gave me some pointers!^^ Please and thanks. <3

  1. anime is for LOOSERS!! no offense........

  2. Pointless Flaming is for LOSERS. Feel free to be offended.....*****. You don't HAVE to wear a costume at all. I'd imagine it'll get kinda gross if you wear over and over within a few days. Not everyone at conventions cosplay. It's not like you'll ever see these people again anyways, no need to get embarrassed.

  3. You can wear your costume as many times as you wish! Usually, when people go to the trouble to make or buy their costumes, they wear them for the duration of the convention. Although I don't cosplay when I go to a convention, I love seeing those who do! It's a lot of fun to see who people cosplay as! Don't be surprised if people happen to stop you and ask to take your picture! If your convention has special guests coming (as Tite Kubo did for the San Diego Comic-Con), you can always cosplay on the day(s) they will be there, and wear other clothes on the other days.

Pointers? Bring something to collect all the free stuff you will get! THAT is fun. Bring money as you will need it :) Sharpen your elbows, heheheheh. If you can get the schedule for your convention ahead of time (on line or in the mail), it would be a good idea as you can plan which panels/seminars to go to ahead of time. If a panel is early in the morning, plan on arriving early to get a good place in line. Wear comfortable shoes!!!!!!!!! I can't stress that enough. If you cosplay and require certain shoes, bring a spare pair to wear if your feet start to get sore.

Three of the MOST important things to remember when going to an Anime Convention.............1) Be prepared to have fun..........2) Bring your patience with you!!! Lines will be everywhere and you will need to wait in them. I've been able to talk to so many cool people waiting in lines for panels and such...............3) Stay safe!!!! There are some unsavory people who go to all types of conventions. But, If you go with a frend or friends and stay aware of who is around you (look out for each other!), you should and will be safe and have fun!!!!!!!

Wait! Wait!!!!!!! I forgot: Take lots of pictures!!!!!! You can re-live all the fun you are going to have with pictures!!

  4. I only wore mine the first day, I wore a Kimono the second, and a gothic outfit the third.

Some people wear their costumes for the whole time, and others wear different or no costumes.

    It's all up to you.

  5. Hi con-newbie....remember one thing...DO NOT SPEND $200 ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE CONVENTION!! The reason I cap that is because I did that....and I realized I didn't need half the stuff at all. I end up burying it at the back of the drawer or try to give it to other people. If you really love it and you know you'll use it or cherish it, go ahead. But if it's on the spur of the moment, then don't buy it.

Ok......you don't have to wear your cosplay. My friend didn't and all she did was go to the dealers' room to buy stuff, take pics of other people cosplaying, and going to the panels. Also, it can depend on the reason why you want to go to Anime Convention. For me, it's the special once a year to dress up, hope poeple will ask to take pics of you, meet with other cosplayers/anime lovers, and have fun.

    Ok...on with the tips.....

#1: Go check out the con's website. There might be certain rules, such as no 6ft+ props allow. Certain rules they have there is there to prevent chaos and you should try to respect it. Also, they have schedule which you can plan ahead with your friends to go to.

#2: Back comfortable clothes. After cosplaying, you want to wear something comfortable. I'm sure you don't wanna wear that tight sweaty cosplay for 24 hours, do you?

#3: TAKE PICS!! It's always good to take pics and post it up online. And then there'll be people who will be googling for the pics and find yours to share to others. =D Also, check the con's website to see if there any group pics organized so you know what time to go and take pics over there.

#4: Watch your budget. My friends is totally broke. Just because it's an anime convention doesn't mean you get to go wild with your money. You may bring like $500 with you to the anime convention, but $50 at a time when you visit the dealers' room/artist alley. Meaning the rest of the money is in your suitcase (if you are staying in the hotel that is) It kinda help weights on your mind that you only have limit amount of money on you and you have to spend it wisely. Also, it helps if someone tries to steal your money for whatever-reason and they ony take a portion of it. =/

    #5: I vouch for ikuyiasonas, but I can't rate her/him since I'm only level 1. =(
