Question:

Are you suppose to tip the hotel or car rental driver?

It seems like such a gray area on whether one tips the driver or not? If you are already renting their car and staying at the hotel, wouldn't the shuttle be just another perk? What if you have no bags? Then again, what if you have alot of bags and they have graciously carried them on to the shuttle for you? What is proper ettiquette when it comes to whether tipping or not and if so how much?

  1. I don't tip shuttle drivers, as a rule, but I tip anybody who handles my luggage, $1 - $2 a bag. That includes bellmen, shuttle drivers, skycaps, etc.

    I also tip housekeeping $5 a night.
