I was flossing yesterday and came up with that question. Are you supposed to floss the last teeth, the one that has no other teeth touching it? The one where only your gum's touch it? Are you supposed to floss that surface?

  1. Yes, plaque usually hides really well in those areas so trying to clean it with the floss will help keep it clean. It is often difficult to brush these areas so a combo of both is best.

  2. Yes, floss behind your last tooth. There is a periodontal pocket there and it can collect bacteria.
