  1. it's really up to you...   some eat it and others like to pull it off.

    yes, it's edible.

it's a taste preference of sorts.

  2. yes.

  3. You eat it all (cover), but the trick is that Brie Cheese has to be eaten at room temperature or you can puff bake it a little in the oven.

  4. manufactured cheap brie cheeses usually have a really bad crust so you shouldn't eat it.  But my friend told me that if you have really good quality brie cheese, the crust is actually really good and you can eat it.

  5. NO,

    You don't remove the rind.

That adds to the complexity of the cheese.

The rind is somewhat bitter and the paste( depending on the ripeness) is somewhat sweet.

It's suppose to be eaten together.

When the brie is over ripe it will smell like ammonia( still edible) but it will have an extremely stronger tasting rind and paste( desirable by many but garbage to others).

So if you want it mild, look for a snow white rind with no brown patches.

If you want it strong, look for browning( especially on the back heel of the cheese).

  6. You can do it either way. I happen to like the rind so I eat the whole thing.

  7. You can eat it

  8. It's up to you.  I remove mine because I dont like the hard rind but it's ok to eat it.  At most parties I have been to that serve brie they leave the rind on.

  9. You don't have to but I prefer it without the rind.

  10. It depends on what you prefer.  It is edible if that is your question.  You can leave it on if you want to make baked brie with puff pastry or you can take it out if you want to spread it on crusty sourdough bread.  Yum!
