Are you supposed to tip a shoe repair man?

I'm going to pick up my shoes from the shoe repair man tomorrow. Is it normal practice to tip him?

  1. I would tip the repairman if he did a good job, and I knew that I could not have gone to any other shop to get the service that he has provided me. Not all shoe shops do some of the jobs you ask of them.


  2. Depends what you expect out of  him.If  the sevice is satisfactory you will tip him.

  4. I would guess no. It is appropriate to tip a shoe shine person, but not a person who repairs shoes in his or her own shop.  

  5. Tipping is based on service professions where one can and go above and beyond their basic job. Shoe repair men do just that. Repair the shoe.

    So I would say that it is not normal practice to tip a shoe repair main.
