Why does it surprise my friends and my family? I mean, there are tons of people with degrees. I only graduated from a low-ranked university and with bad grades. Do you know how competitive those high paying positions are?

I really think this minimum wage job is the best I can do. I mean, I even like my job, it is easy and not stressful. I bet those high paying jobs, you have to bust your brains out everyday and are very stressful. So what do you guys think?

  1. I AM NOT SURPRIZED..in todays economy...People do NOT NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU MAKE...and if they ask...and they WILL..just say.."ENOUGHT TO GET BY"...because it is NONE of their business to know that anyway...Be sure and walk away so they do NOT BADGER YOU!!! CUZ some will!!! I am sure high paying jobs are EXTREMELY STRESSFUL AND who need that anyway???

  2. That's actually my fear.

It would make me ask myself why I even went to university when I could have saved those thousands of dollars and invested/saved it instead you know.

I just graduated university in April and have just started looking for a job.

Today I've gotten 4 calls for job interviews (and one tomrorow) in the same day, for reputable companies (some more than others).

You need to move up to Canada yo...

Seriously, even when I was working full time during university, I was being paid a decent amount above minimum wage at a crappy joe job.

COME TO CANADA - our dollar is worth more to haha.

My degree is pretty pointless by itself (an undergraduate BA), but it really opens alot of doors in terms of getting away from those minimum wage jobs that don't seem as satisfying when you get your pay check haha...

  3. That is why I think college is a waste of time. A buddy of mine spent 6 years at M.I.T. and was offered a job that paid $400,000/year. But he got into a fight protecting his girlfriend, got charged with a felony, now the only work he can get is part-time at a farm, making minimum wage. People always think just because you go to college, you will have a very good career, most of the time its not true. I didn't go to college, I make $115,000/year, and I am only 25 years old.
