Are you the type to introduce yourself first?

Question

that is in social situations.

like first week of college .

i've never been the type to just go up to people and be like, " hey my name is.. whats yours? " but-- its an ability i lack..

are you the type to talk to people first..

if so .. whats your approach?

( i guess im just not a people person.. or a don't have enthusiasm to meet others.. but i surely could use some tips considering im an introvert)

umm when im in a situation and im with them i'll be like hey im balahaahaa ( enter my name there ) lol

but i mean its weird and awkward to spot a person accross the room and be like oh hi my name is .....

I do this and i have absolutely no problem talking to anyone...My favorite thing to do is to go to a store, mall whatever and strike up a conversation with people.  Sometimes whomever is with me picks someone in the store, my mission is to get them to open up, ok sometimes i cant get them to shut up LOL Its good practice plus you may never run into these people again and it teaches you to open up.   I just like a challenge and pick the grumpiest, non smiling person in the place. .

Sometimes it can be a bit awkwardd.. but dont even worry

Trust me.. it is wayyy easier when its in school, because there is always reason to interact with people. You either have to work together or sit next to each other.
