Are you tired of hearing about Misty May and Kerry Walsh?

In all seriousness, do these athletes deserve all of the attention they are getting or are they simply over-hyped? I'm not trying to diss anyone--winning a gold in the Olympics is certainly a commendable feat accomplished by only a few--but why are these athletes getting more attention than other just-as-deserving athletes?

I just don't know that two girls who basically won a medal in a recreational sport (seriously, how many kids grow up saying I wanna be a professional BEACH volleyball player) deserve so much attention simply because their uniforms are bikinis.

You're only mad at them for the same reason everyone hates the New England Patriots.

Volleyball is 5 years younger than basketball. Basketball was create din 1890 and volleyball was created in 1895, within 2 miles of each other. Many basketball players, like WIt Chamberlin have played pro beach volleyball too. To say beach volleyball is not a serious and real sport is ridiculous.

When you say Volleyball is a recreational sport it clues me in to your knowledge about the game. The sport of beach volleyball is not your mom and dad's company picnic and family reunion jungle ball and it has been played seriously since the 1930s.

It's not Kerri Walsh and Misty May's fault that you are such a caveman that you cannot see beyond a skimpy uniform. Why the FIVB even caters to the likes of people like you who don't even appreciate the game by putting the women in those uniforms so you watch it, I'll never know.

The reason Kerri Walsh and Misty May are covered so highly is because it is very difficult to dominate the sport of beach volleyball for so long because there is too much competition. If there was no competition no one would care, much like the South Korean Weightlifter who repeated as Gold Medalist because no one can even come close to competing with her. But you didn't hear about her, my point exactly.

Have you done any research at all about the sport of pro beach volleyball? To say that there's no competition is trying to discount a sport played at a professional level around the world, by thousands of athletes who make their living from the sport. Clue in before you try to say that there is no competition. Have you ever played doubles beach volleyball?

I am certainly not tired of hearing about them. I LOVE watching beach volleyball and I am a girl. Misty and Kerry have gone since August 16, 2007 without loosing a match! That's incredible to me! They are awesome athletes! They are the most dominate team in beach volleyball in the olympics! I really enjoy watching them play!

i only watch beach volleyball when the athletes are in their mid-20's and below

they are the only beach vball team to win two gold medals in the sport! they havent lost since august 17th 2007 with 108 match winning streak. this tournament win was kerri walsh's 100th career tournament win and Misty May's 103rd. The winning streak includes international tournaments. They are the best beach volleyball team ever, so why not celebrate that! They are good people too.

Heck no, I'm not tired of hearing about these two. They are THE most dominant team of their sport and perhaps the most dominant team ever created. They have so thoroughly dominated the rest of the sport that they have a winning streak of over 100 matches, along with their gold medals in back-to-back olympics. In the Olympics, they have never lost a SET, let alone a match. Over a four-year span, they have a winning percentage of higher than 97%. Are you kidding me? Name any team or individual EVER in ANY sport to do that. They are true athletes and flat-out masters of their sport. I wanna see them try for a men's gold next year.

They get more attention because they deserve more attention. It's that simple. It's not because of their bikinis as you so poorly put it, it's because of their talent, teamwork, and tenacious nature.
