According to The Telegraph:

01 Sep 2008

Anti-corruption authorities have seized more than $630,000 (£315,000) raised during an "Africans for Obama" gala dinner held in Nigeria's commercial capital, Lagos.

Hundreds of the city's high-society elite and business leaders paid up to £11,000 for a table at the glitzy fundraiser, but police intervened when it became clear that US laws prohibit overseas donations.

  1. What troubles me is the right wing propaganda machine that feeds the ignorance of so-called Christians. Jesus weeps.

  2. It does bother me a little. Kind of send a message that racism will never go away because many black people won't let it. Other than that, I think the money would be better spent on the poor in Nigeria, not a puppet in American politics

Funny, I don't remember Nigeria trying to raise funds for any other President's election!

  3. what bothers me abt obama is that he wants to give money to corrupt leaders in africa. i mean like mugabe whose refusing un aid is really going to give that money to poor people in zim. the people who are suffering in africa will never get access to that money as long as the corrupt leaders are in place maybe obama should work on changing this first. this money is just bribes so that the rich corporations of the us  can have access to the natural resources of africa, with obama and the rich companies and the corrupt leaders the only big winners and the poor people of africa and the us the losers

  4. Not really, because in the end McCain will win. But this election sure has brought out a lot of racism from that side.

  5. Yes, and I even more troubled by the Middle East cash not being caught from his "internet"donors...

  6. well since obama wants to send about 700 billion of working family's

hard earned dollars through his legislation the global poverty act, it's

not hard to understand their motivation!

  7. so afican - american people are voting for barack obama because he is black? im confused
