That said, bad things do happen to good people.  But, the vast majority of people have sufficient control over their lives, and must take responsibility for their actions, or inaction.

If you are responsible, you will vote for whoever is going to shrink government and reduce taxes. If you need a nipple to suck on, you will vote for whoever is going to declare you a victim and point out who he is going to punish to help you out. Thats how I see it anyway.

Depends. If I am a child, then I can't be all that responsible for working, etc. 64% of welfare recipiants are children under age 5.

If I am one of the 6 million elderly on welfare, then I would have already worked my entire life, but can no longer work...yet wasn't give access to retirement, pensions, 401k's, etc.

If I am one of the 1 in 4 Veterans on welfare, I have worked my butt off for YOU and all American people, but my injuries in service make it impossible for me to work any longer.

Interesting that you don't ask this question of corporations...who use 4 times the amount of taxpayer dollars on corporate welfare than do the American poor on social welfare. Shouldn't you really go after them over our children, our elderly, and our veterans?

I want the government out of my private life.  Out of my bedroom ... Out of my choice to have a baby or not ... Out of my choice of whom to marry or not.   Out of my choice when I want to die with dignity.

I'd like to be, the the government owns me. I just sent in my estimated taxes, and they are by far the most expensive bill I have (more than all my bills combined). Too many people expect the government to take care of them while I waste my life at work.  They all want everyone to pay more! They could care less about how much we pay NOW! Someone is lying. We live in Socialism now.

Tickled Blue: Why are 64% of welfare recipients children? Could it be that Liberals never thought women would have more children to increase their benefits? That's exactly what is happening, and the politically correct Liberals make everyone afraid to say it. My girlfriend is black, and she grew up in those neighborhoods. That's her take on it. I would love to see the 2 of you battle it out. I bet you have never been to those places. I have, and I spend a great deal of my spare time volunteering, but how could that be? The system should take care of you, but too many people are scamming because they allow it.

The government is responsible for the defense of the country & the free flow of commerce.  Otherwise WE are responsible for everything else.
