Do you feel underpaid, and if so- what are you going to do?

I have felt that in some cases I am underpaid, and it is pretty tough to tackle this!

  1. I wanted to be a teacher since 3rd grade, so when I graduated, I started taking classes part time.  It took me 7 years, but I graduated and taught for my whole career.  My Masters I got by going after work, summers, Saturdays...  I would have loved to earn more money, but I got what I wanted:  to do something I loved and to work in an occupation where you are likely to keep your job in the same system for an entire career, if you want.  I am not an entrepreneur and needed the security of a pay check to feel comfortable.

Everyone feels underpaid at times because you are expected to take on duties over and above your job description or to do make up work other people get away with not doing or stay late and put in the time needed to do a good job and nobody notices.

  2. yes i would like more money and i fell i do a lot for what i get , and i want to try out some of the online programs i see but can't afford that at the time . can you help ? with any suggestions .

  3. yes i do feel underpaid, however my job title looks good for what i want to do next. i am not too worried about money right now -- i know that sounds crazy but i'd rather have this title under my belt for a couple years and then it will be more likely i'll get into the grad school i want to attend :)
