The way Manny has been on a tear it seems like he hits when he wants to hit. It looks like he slacked off for the Red Sox and now he is happy.

  1. no! the red sox office thingy didnt even like him, they gave him no respect, nomar garciaparra didnt either..

  2. quite frankly. manny seems to be more focused when on the dodgers,so i think many is better off on the dodgers, so i don'tt mind him not playing for the red sox.

  3. I like him better as a Dodger.

  4.   With Manny, it seems that what you see is what you get. A guy that puts up monster numbers year after year, but is always pretty much the proverbial bomb , thats waiting to go off. He never struck me as a real good teammate nor did he seem to be beloved by the rest of his cohorts. I`ll bet if you asked in Bostons clubhouse, they miss his numbers.... But cetainly not his person or personality !

  5. Manny was acting like a baby - a real expensive one!  I hated to see him go but he needed to with the attitude he had.  It seems to me that the team is a lot brighter since he left.

  6. Yes i am upset with Manny he didn't give the office the respect they deserved after all these years and we offered him a better contract then L.A. they put up with him long enough and his attitude was terrible but after all we did end up with a solid jason bay with a good attitude

  7. Not at all. I hate the Red Sux, but I've always been a fan of Manny!

  8. I am not upset, given his character, but I am not happy about it either. Manny is very talented but he's basically a baby.  I think he will work his a** off for the rest of the year so he can get a new contract; I just hope the team that signs him realizes that sooner or later they'll get similar treatment.

Fans need to expect that just because you've got great skills from the neck down, doesn't mean you're a great person or even likeable. Most people ignored Manny's personality flaws because of his production. When the production went, that was it for him.

  9. I am glad that he feels motivated to come to work!

  10. i think its more that hes motivated to hit better.  He's in an environment that suits him, and its showing in his performance.  Besides, hes a stat w***e and would never play badly on purpose to hurt a team he dislikes.

  11. All the guy did was help bring two titles to Boston, and he had solid stats this year. Was Manny relieved to be out of the pressure cooker and happy to be in LA? Yes. Is that reflected in his stats? Yes. I think it will be very difficult to show that he slacked in Boston, I think it will show that it is difficult to succeed when your team tries to trade you each off-season. But, admittedly, some of the mess was of Manny's own making, too.

It is amazing how so many Red Sox fans have turned on Manny. It would be 88 years and counting if you didn't have him...instead you are the defending World Series champs. Show some appreciation.
