Are you using the new Firefox 3 browser yet?

Ok, I'm an old dog and you know what they say. "It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks". Well, I never really used the Firefox browser much because I was so used to IE but now I see this advertisement and recommendation by Yahoo to use the new Firefox 3 browser and am wondering if I should use it.

Just wondering if anyone has used it and how it compares to IE, specifically. Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

Peace.

  1. I would suggest you to use Mozilla 3 and i have been using it for a long time now, right from its first beta release. I had no issues in specific. The difference between IE and Mozilla is the rendering is much faster than IE, because IE waits for the image to load completely but Mozilla renders them faster.

So go with mozilla for spyware and hijacker free browsing...

  2. I use Firefox 3 all the time

  3. yes, AWSOME!

  4. though its faster than IE im still using IE.

they both have their goods and their bads.

im not good with firefox. it kind of confuses me so i stayed with IE but i have both just incase,

  5. I use both. Firefox at home and IE at work. I can say that I really prefer to use Firefox. It seems to run faster, smoother, and just better overall. It also never crashes on me like IE sometimes does.

  6. Firefox of old had it's own set of probs. BUT, it has been majorly improved. If you are running VISTA, Firefox has a distinct advantage over IE. When it comes to vista, IE has memory issues and other small problems. FIrefox works beautifully with vista, like a well-oiled machine.

  7. I don't know if my Firefox is 3 or not, but I love Firefox.  It runs so much faster than IE.  The tabbed browsing is really handy and everything looks better to me.  I love Firefox and can hardly ever use IE anymore.  Sometimes in rare cases my pop-up blocker (something I installed outside of Firefox) causes things to not work and I have to go through IE, but that's rare.  Once you've tried it and gotten used to it, I bet you want to go back either.  It took me a while to get used to it though.  Now that I have I have a hard time finding things on IE when I try.

  8. Compared to IE, it's faster, safer, more efficient, more user-friendly, and tons of add-ons that makes web browsing more enjoyable.

  9. I use it, but I must admit it is slow.

I would never use IE, I prefer Safari, but I've run into problems with a few webpages with it. Safari is pretty much the same, but faster, and it has cooler personalization features

In summary: I use Safari primarily. I keep Firefox in case Safari won't load something. I keep IE in case I want to get a virus and have someone steal my banking login info.

  10. Yeah, I was an IE user before, till I saw the FireFOx add right here on Yahoo just, just like you. I experience the Firefox much better. It's faster for me.

  11. Yes.  It's a big improvement on the older versions... and it kicks the **** out of IE7.

  12. I find firefox much faster and reliable than IE, My IE takes few seconds before it loads unlike firefox, less pop ups and lots of useful add ons.

  13. Firefox 3 is rather s**y, use it.

  14. Yes I love it, It loads youtubes Comments much faster, like when the comments are over 500 it used to load very slow

  15. I recently downloaded it at my girlfriends house, and didn't really like it to be honest, even though i've pretty much always used firefox. I prefer firefox 2, but maybe that is because I'm used to it.

  16. no but people like firefox 2 better

  17. I downloaded and installed it when it first was available.   I love it.  It's really fast, and has allot of features.
