  1. both. i just don't think that we have the right to eat whatever we want just because we're bigger. though, i never pressure anyone else to do the same as many meat eaters think. the health issues are just a bonus.

  2. I am a vegetarian only because of the animals, however I do believe it is better for your health not to eat meat.

  3. I was a vegetarian, but I got sick because there are some nutrients humans need only available through animal based proteins.  I guess that's why we have canines.

I became vegetarian because of the ethical concerns and the way industrial farming actually makes the meat poisonous, but unless you take supplements it is NOT healthier.  By allowing an intellectual conception of life to override simple nutritional and evolutionary truth I did myself some long term health damage.

  4. All of the above.  I do it for the animals, my health, and the environment.  I want this world to be a nice place when I hand it over to my kids.

  5. Ethical.  I really couldn't care less about health, to be perfectly honest.  In fact, I still don't eat terribly healthy food... but now the c**p I eat simply lacks meat/byproducts/non-organic dairy and egg.

It just seems ridiculous and cruel to kill another sentient being just so you can have a meal.  As any intelligent person recognizes, and even verified by scientific tests conducted on the brain activity of various animals, and as anyone with pets knows (assuming they actually spend time with their pets, which many pet owners don't), animals do in fact think and feel just like humans.  So it seems insane and ignorant to ignore that and continue to eat them.

But yeah, booooo to healthy eating!

  6. we are strict vegan so never saw non veg till adult and for 1st few times i puked at non veg stuff but today i dont ear by choice even though when abroad it is too tough

  7. Hmm... good question.

I became veggie aged 11, when there was a foot and mouth epidemic in the UK. Seeing the images of slaughter on TV started it, so I guess that makes it a moral thing. I also try to avoid by-products of meat (e.g. gelatine) so I care about the animal welfare side of it.

However, I do feel much healthier now than I ever did as a meat-eater, and I eat more of my food than I used to (I always hated meat). I think that the health side of it is what stops me reverting to eating meat, if that makes sense.

  8. I'm a vegetarian because I don't like the concept of meat.

It freaks me out to know that meat is cooked flesh.

  9. i'm a vegetarian simply for the health benefits. since i'm in college, most of the meat prepared is deep fried and disgusting, and i stopped craving it altogether. i feel alot better, cleaner, and have discovered so many yummy foods i never knew existed. =]

  10. I first became veg because of my ethics, and health was just a bonus for me.

  11. My lifestyle is gearing me more towards a vegetarian way of eating, because it is healthier. We have slowed down to a crawl eating red meats and poultry. LOts of salmon and different kinds of fish and seafood. LOts and lots of different kinds of vegetables, cooked and served in many different ways.

  12. Spiritual concerns. I feel killing animals for food is killing sentient beings like you and me. If I support killing animals for food, I should also support cannibalism.

  13. I'm veg*n because I can't think of a good reason not to be.  I chose it for ethical reasons, for environmental reasons, for political reasons and for health reasons, among others.

  14. I'm not a vegetarian but i feel icould be and i've definitely considered it but i'm not keen on green vegetables which is the main source of protein other than meat. So my health wouldn't really benefit. I don't really eat red meats anyway.

  15. Religion:Buddhist

Health:Meat has saturated fats that lead to health risk and problems like cancer and clogged arteries

Ethical/Moral:People were never meant to eat god's creatures proverb12:15 . I am a Environmentalist and Animal Activist.Totally goes against what I believe in.

  16. Moral reasons mainly. It is healthier, but frankly I would still choose to live this way even if it were killing me. I love animalkind.

  17. I am new at it. I still eat chicken and occasionally turkey, so I am not full on yet, but I feel so much better not eating beef. My whole body feels better. Now, I feel bad for the cows. I am not sure if I will ever stop eating chicken

  18. As a vegetarian, I truely belive that animals should not be killed for meat. You might think their just animals - but does that mean we're just humans? We're no different to them. People who eat meat are just as guilty as the person who killed the poor animal and most people can't get their head around that. But i'm a great believer of it.

  19. i'm a veggie. nt bcoz of my ethics. i jst love to be a veggie.
