Are you willing to draft Shockey or Crumpler now that they're in new homes?

Alge Crumpler was already being tossed around as a TE sleeper pick. Jeremy Shockey's move to New Orleans is certain to raise eyebrows. Are you going to draft either or them or are you going to let another manager take the risk?

  1. yes, titans dont have a spectacular player at reciever, and in san diego brees used gates a lot now shocky is in new orleans brees should use him a lot

  2. It is not like these guys lost any  talent when they went to new teams.  Crumpler I think will be better then he was in Atlanta.  And Shockey already knows the system in New Orleans so there will be no transition period.  Both are going to be solid fantasy players for the tight end position.

  3. willing, yes. talent just doesn't go away.

  4. TE has become a very deep position.

I think both players values increased with their relocation.

Of the two, I like Shockey best.

New Orleans has become one of the top passing offenses since Drew Brees' arrival.  He hit oft-injured journeyman chump Eric Johnson 48 times last season.

Drew Brees doesn't have the strongest arm, so a mid-range sure-handed target like Shockey could blossom.

He's an injury risk as well, but Shockey is well worth considering by those who pass on the name-brand TEs.

I like Crumpler, and he too could work out well.  He'll arguably be the Titans best receiver.

Vince Young is very inconsistent, and they can't seem to figure out their pass-run balance.

Crumpler's balky knee worries me some.

I'll be considering both no question.

  5. I probably won't touch Crumpler because Vince Young hasn't developed as quickly as hoped as a passer. I thought Crumpler would have been better off going to a team like Seattle where he finally could have played with a top-notch quarterback. Young may take a step forward this year, but it's not a sure thing.

I also won't probably grab Shockey. I think he's overrated. He's good, but he has never racked up the yardage numbers of guys like Witten, Gates and Gonzalez, and last year more than 20 tight ends had as many or more touchdowns than Shockey had.

He may do very well in New Orleans, but I'll let someone else find that out.

    Good luck.

  6. I think Shockey could have a huge year playing for a team with a good QB and thin receiving corps. Shockey wanted 80 catches a year in NYC but with the scatter-armed mini-Manning directing the offense that wasn't going to happen. A change of scenery is the best thing that could have happened for him and he may get his 60 catches, and more, in the Big Easy.

Crumpler is another matter because he's going to a team that runs first and passes only when they have to. Young makes Rex Grossman look like an All-Pro QB yet the Titans find ways to win despite him, so he remains the starter. Unless Tennessee replaces him with a competent NFL QB,  Crumpler's numbers iwll continue to decline.
