  1. The real win for ethanol will be when we start making it from something like sawgrass, which grows with little water on poor land.

But ethanol from corn is still useful, though, as you say, we can't run the country on it.  It's just one tool of many to fight global warming.

  2. Oh yes, yes I am, three bags full and a yo ho ho.  Real change will come.  It will be at the whim of big business and govt.  Most ideas will be bad ideas and most will make a few men very rich.  It will be sold to us until we think it's our own idea.  Same old s**t, different day.

  3. yes this is the way to go..make our food prices go up..wonder why the farmer are not growing anything but corn..wonder why we have no extra corn or grain in storage...and start eating oil ....NOT

  4. The farmers HAVE MORE than enough land to feed the world 3 times over and STILL have enough to fuel all the cars and planes on earth. The problem? Your politicians(BOTH parties) who are owned and operated by big buissines. Both republicans and democrats own stock in oil.The kennedys own ken oil but I dont see them offering cheaper gas to the public. They think low income workers make 15 an hr plucking chickens. They need to get a real job like we have.Anyway, starving people who are oppressed by  evil dictators isnt the answer. Our politicians PAY the farmers NOT to plant all they can so THEY can control food prices! Isnt that great? How do we fix it?By voting out EVERY senator and congressman who has been in office more than 2 terms regardless of party affiliation.

  5. I read a study that concluded that it takes 94 to 129 percent of the energy you get out of ethanol to make it. Also it would take all of the farmland in the country to produce enough crop for 40% of our fuel needs. Conclusion: Ethanol will not work for anyone. Look to wind or solar.

  6. yes i will pay more for it  .

if  it will stop our use of oil

  7. Ethanol is a bandaid fix at best, you still need a better longterm solution.

But ethanol production shouldn't have a huge impact on food, the food will actually cost less to ship.

Besides it seems nowadays people spend as much on fuel as they do on food.

  8. the system of barter has been the oldest form of trade in the world. If you try to be self-centered, and get offended by the needs of 3rd world countries, you may have to loose your share in some the needs you have. are you ready for this?
