  1. Willingness will have nothing to do with changing the American's eating habits, you will be coerced into compliance, first probably with a junk food tax such cigarette, alcohol tax, then second with a greater good type law, such as seatbelt, helmet laws.Americans are losing their freedoms one by one, the land of the free has become the land of laws.

  2. "Banning" food will never work. It didn't during Prohibition for alcohol, it won't now for junk food. If people WANT it, they will find a way to get it. The answer is education, education, education. Also, "junk food" is OK as a treat... just not as a primary diet source. People don't have to totally deprive themselves, just use some common sense.

This has to be a societal change that comes from constant, well-placed messages about the harm of fatty, sugary, empty-calorie foods. The good news is... there is starting to be a shift. People are becoming more aware of what they eat, but it won't happen over night.

  3. What you're really asking is whether we are willing to trade our freedom so that the government can tell us what we can and cannot eat.

The answer is a resounding NO!

  4. No; at this stage in my life, I've already eaten enough trans-fat to sink a ship. I'm not so sure it would help me. lol

  5. I don't eat twinkies or chips, but if you think that I would trust the Gov. to keep me healthy, I have a bridge in N.Y. that maybe you would like to buy.
