Mine sure are. They have been studying Beijing (well all of China) at school and the olympics. They will have olympics day where the whole school does Olympics. They want me to tape the opening ceremony tonight(not on till 9.50pm)and watch the gymnastics and swimming and weightlifting. They are doing a project on the country of their choice that is competing in the Games and writing about one of their olympians. They are both very excited about it.

Are yours? How old are they and which country are you.

We went to the Commonwealth games 2 years ago and saw the swimming finals and I think that spured on their interest as well. They are avid swimmers and do gymnastics. Why weightlifting, I am not sure lol

Mine are 9 year old boy and girl and we are Australian

  1. My daughter is only 2 months old so she's a little too young to really know what's going on. I however am excited about it. It's on the TV today, and I most certainly plan on watching the opening ceremony. I'm sure my daughter will just sleep through most of it though. It covers the majority of her nap times! Bless her.

When she's older though, I'm sure she'll love it. The games are coming to London in 2012 so my husband and I plan on going to them. She'll be 4, so she'll understand it more.

    :)

  2. Yes

  3. No, our lot aren't, because it means no Home & Away, which I'm in agreeance with, that just sucks. Why couldn't they leave Home and Away on the HD channel at least. Not fair lol.

  4. My 8yr old has also been studying it a little; and is very excited.

The other two dont get it, especially the 3yr old has no idea.

But they are looking forward to the swimming & gymnastics especially.

My god-daughter who i currently am her guardian; is really dissapointed as she has to attend school camp all week &will miss half of it! - Once every 4years and she misses it!

  5. We are Aussie also, and the kids told me they dont want the games on channel 7 because now they can watch home and away, lol. They are 3 and 4, and love snuggling up to mummy while we watch it

  6. Yes!-my children and myself are excited about the Olympics.  We love China-the people, the places, the culture, the food-and the Olympics have given us another setting in which to learn about China.  (We homeschool, so it is very easy to incorporate things into our lessons).

My children are 10 and 8, and I also have an infant that will be 1 next month-of course she does not care much about the Olympics LOL.

We will be watching gymnastics, ice skating, and the BMX and martial arts.

    We live in the USA.

  7. my 6yr old son isnt at all excited about it as its replacing his fav shows on tv lol and he finds watching sport on tv boring although he does like to play football(aussie rules) and basketball

  8. My 3 boys, ages 8 & 7 (twins) can't wait - its a shame it is on so late though.  We are having a celebration tea tonight, just some party food and treats and then they are going to have their own mini-games playing Wii and Gamecube games. We are going to tape the openeing and watch it with them in the morning. We are from Australia too, even though they don't have a favourite sport i'm sure they'll enjoy what is on when they have a chance to watch. They have 2 days off school next week so plenty of time to watch! lol

  9. Friends rule. Olympics can go to SBS!
