Sant Pere Molanta is a tiny little village in the region of Catalonia, their main language will be catalan. If you go to big cities in Catalonia, Spanish is very widely spread, but this is not the case of villages the size of Sant Pere Molanta. So if you are planning to go there on holidays, your Spanish will be enough (as they can all also speak good Spanish, although it's their second language) but if you plan to live there, they'll appreciate the fact you try and learn their language, maybe even before you learn Spanish.

The area is very nice, full of vineyards, and they make good Cava. It's between two big cities: Barcelona and Tarragona, both very nice lively sea side cosmopolitan cities. And it's a great area because it's not too far from the sea side, you can go to Castelldefels, Sitges, Calafell, Comarruga... All the costa Dorada is composed of long golden sandy beaches, that's why it's called golden coast.
