Areas in Toronto - Safety issues

Question

Hi all... My question is about safety in parts of Toronto.

My wife and me are planning our first home purchase, and we are trying to find a nice safe area to live in, but not too expensive.

We have seen a building on Yonge St. just north of Finch which is good for us cause we use the TTC, but I have read in another question here that Finch is not safe anywhere... Do you guys have any recommendation? Nice area but not too expensive?

why dont u check with the police  / drive around in morning around 11am and see. then u can get some feel!

my friend was mentioning that some parts of finch is fine.  so seek that out.
