Question:

Aren't Americans hypocritical for being so judgmental of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin?

Americans just continue to amaze me with our stupidity.

For the last eight years, we have suffered through one of the most incompetent and dishonest administrations in U.S. history. George W. Bush has lied to the country, started an illegal war, compromised America's image in the world, flushed our economy down the toilet, allowed our dollar to become next-to-worthless with his ballooning trade deficits, fiddled on his guitar while New Orleans drowned, made a mess of our health care system, and wiped out a budget surplus through a tax cut to benefit the upper 5% of Americans.

He has done all this, and we Americans voted to put him there.

Then four years later, we voted to give him another term.

And now the American people have the audacity (the unmitigated gall) to express concerns about whether Sarah Palin is fit to serve as president. After 8 years of not really caring who was in the Oval Office, all of a sudden Americans seem to value who is their president. And yet, they certainly didn't have very many values when they voted for GW Bush, did they? Most Bush voters only voted for him because they didn't like Kerry or Gore. What a brilliant reason to go to the polls; vote for Candidate "A" just because you dislike Candidate "B".

If a chimpanzee had been serving as president for the last 8 years, I seriously believe it could not have ruined this country as much as Dubya has. Isn't it hypocritical for Americans to say that Sarah Palin is unfit to serve as president?

I think Ms. Palin could run the country while simultaneously blindfolded, breast-feeding her 5-month old, and cooking up mooseburgers for her family and still do a far better job than Bush or Cheney. Americans have absolutely no right to question the competence or background of this beautiful and intelligent Alaskan woman, not with the way we have allowed ourselves to be bent over and shagged for the last 8 years.

I'm a Liberal Democrat, leaning towards voting for Obama. But, I'm excited about the prospect that come January, we will have either: a black president, or a female *vice* president.

  1. liberals are the ones who dismiss women as less importance  in Government offices.Hence why the Dem states never have women in  offices with real power.

  2. I agree with a lot of what you say, but we have no idea how Palin is going to handle herself. Alaska is much different than the rest of the United States.

For me, the stories of her constant need to pray before every event, denying that polar bears are endangered and the glee she takes in speaking about pro-life policies really make me nervous. I just cannot back someone with those beliefs and it makes me concerned about her ability to assess information.

We are not hypocritical. I actually cant say too much about her now. What I can say is that McCain picked her in order to win the election, not because she is the best choice to lead the nation, and that fact alone scares and angers me. This is not the kind of decision making America needs.

  3. Nope, Palin is a right wing nut case.

  4. well there is always uncertainly out there but i think palin was well rechived and her candicacy a boost for mccain .

  5. well written and intelligent questions. I agree with everything you said except for america being judgmental regarding sarah. This is the only time we have to BE judgmental. We, as a nation, must use our judgment wisely, so i must respectfully disagree we should not be so. That said, while i also agree that sarah could have done a better job than bush, heck you or i could have done a better job. And while i agree america elected this turkey--twice--i think history will show there were too many voter shenanigans in 2000--when the supreme court said "stop counting" and in 2004--with the voting machine fraud--that allows a solid case that boy george won through less-than-honest means. I'm going with obama, and keep in mind, should sarah make it, women will soon thereafter be required to carry ANY pregnancy to term--including pregnancies from rape, incest and a life threatening situation of the mother. That really scares me, as i would imagine it would scare all women.

  6. well i think its great that amercans can ask these kind of questions about the worthness of a possible upcomoing administration people have done the same thing about obama and all other candidates and even tho you are right about G.W. Bush i think what we did wrong eight years ago was not ask those kind of questions and for that reason that is why we are stuck with the administration we have now

  7. The republicans favor Palin by 80%, it's the Libs that dislike her.  They are the only ones I see making fun of her children, and making sexist remarks about her.  Talk about Hypocritical!!!!!

  8. No, they aren't being hypocritical to question Palin's resume and credibility. Perhaps if more people would have done a better job of questioning 8 years ago, we wouldn't have had Bush/Cheney in charge of the cookie jar.

  9. Your question is just ridiculous!!!!!

This is nothing but a Bush bashing rant.

Are they also hypocritical for being judgemental of Obama? Cuz you didn't mention that.

  10. Yes. Certainly

  11. The Republicans are hypocritical for NOT being....

You call your self a Liberal Democrat but you are defending a Right wing extremist.  You got your wires crossed.

  12. Palin denies the existence of global warming. This is not very intelligent. Even Bush has stopped denying it.

  13. I AM EXCITED TOO BUT I RATTER HAVE THE FORMAL THAN THE LATTER

  14. I agreed with you up until you said " I think Ms. Palin could run the country while simultaneously blindfolded, breast-feeding her 5-month old, and cooking up mooseburgers for her family and still do a far better job than Bush or Cheney".

Are you joking or are you just another chimpanzee?

  15. Americans can be hypocritical, regardless of the circumstances.

  16. I was impressed with your question until the last paragraph.  If you think that Sarah is so great (which I agree 100% with you) why are you leaning towards Obama?

  17. i would feel better with mccain in office rather than bush

i would trust bush over palin, i honestly thought it could not be any worse until i read up on sarah palin - this woman is a complete quack job

  18. Huh? Who's Palin?

Just kidding. She's okay, but I REALLY doubt she could be president if Senator McCain dies. And let's be reasonable... he isn't all that young.

You say that Palin could do better than Bush, but I don't know. I haven't actually heard about her until McCain picked her. If you ask me, Bush isn't completely useless, he's just a REALLY big air head.

The point isn't if she can do better than Bush did, but if she can do better for the country in general. That, I think she would have trouble doing. McCain has changed from a moderate with a good backbone to supporting Bush 95% of the time and I don't think Palin can help him that much.
