no... i dont think so... aussies have some minor weak bowling attack specially for asia pitches.. but they would be enough for england... but england has chance bit they have to play really well as they play in 2005

This should be in jokes & riddles mate. Get a grip, Aussies are still number 1 & I don't see England taking that position ahead of SA anyway. As for the Ashes, that remains to be seen, but we Aussies will give it our best shot.

from the above, i can say that australia are even today

a better team than england.

I wish I could agree with that.

However, there is nothing to base this on performance wise.  We lost to India in England, struggled to beat New Zealand in their own country; and we now trail South Africa in England.

All the facts would suggest the opposite.  Sorry pal.

A realistic Englishman, who would love to be proved wrong.  However; it doesn't look likely in the near future.

I don't think so, and probably never will think so.

England has played 4 or 3 series currently where it did... well, if I stretch it.

Australia is still doing well and I doubt a team who cheated to get a run-out could beat it.

After watching the last match v/s South Africa, I beg to differ.

Last 6 months were good for England except the last match. After the 189 run defeat at Hamilton, (first week of March '08 - which incidentally was the last of 7 matches without a win) England had a string of 6 test matches without defeat, that is when South Africa beat England by 10 Wickets.

But to defeat Australia, you need to put in the best efforts. If they can rediscover the performance against NZ at home, Australia is certainly beatable.

Not trying to rain on  your parade, but cricket like many sports, is highly transient and can only be a snapshot in time.

The Aussies have a winning culture in cricket, meaning that they have to keep on winning. After they last lost to England in the Ashes series, it didn't go down too well in Oz.

Can't see them wanting to lose again without a fight! However all the best!

Think Aussies are one of the great teams but nothing wrong with sharing around the silverware to opponents who have proven worthy.

Scooter McGavin - cricket is a unique sport that kind of breaks the mould of other generic ball sports. I don't like test match cricket, but nothing beats a close finish in one-day cricket! It is intense and the adrenalin lasts way longer than games like rugby.
