Conservatives are people who believe that hard work should be rewarded.

If I work hard, go to night school to get my degree, and sacrifice so that me and my family can have a comfortable lifestyle - why should I be forced to 'share' with somebody who never bothered to improve himself?

Right now 30% of the population pays 70% of the taxes.  Is this fair?

And if you decide that I should be required to share - why should anyone bother to improve themselves?

Evidently not.  It is a statistical fact that conservatives give more money to charity than liberals.  The difference is that conservatives are discerning about where our money goes, how the money is spent, and who spends it.  

Centralized government is always corrupt.  That is why our nation's founders built a Republic, where government cells are smaller and more easily controlled by the people.  

Try this analogy:  I offer to pay you $50 to rake the leaves, and mow my yard.  After you finish, I hand you the money, then take it back, and give it to my able bodied neighbor next door; explaining to you that they have less than you, and are therefore entitled to the money you earned doing my yard work.  You think about it while you're watching the neighbor wash their SUV.  Finally you ask:  Why didn't you ask them to do the work, and earn the $50 themselves?

You are now a conservative.

You are so out of touch that you don't even realize the Republican Party is wildly liberal.  Neo-Cons are liberals.  All of the Conservatives are now Libertarians.

I would say Hollywood is liberal yet:

The richest 1% of Americans earn 19% of the nations income and pay something around 37% of the income tax.  The top 10% pay nearly 70% of the income.  The lower 50% of Americans pay on 3% of the income tax.  When you also consider capital gains taxes, social security taxes, medicare taxes, estate taxes, etc., you tell me who isn't paying their fair share?  And for your information, the mafia has traditionally been associated with the left.
