Aren't cream crackers the worst biscuits ever?

You no sooner have bought a packet, take them home and half of them are broken. You are sitting there with your stomach rumbling sticking bits of cracker together like bits of some ancient vase from Roman times.

  1. Oh I don't know. Throw a wedge of butter and a cut of cheese on top and they're pretty addictive. There's a knack to getting them home in one piece from the shop, once you've mastered that the rest is easy. And they're brilliant when you've got serious munchies at 4.30am, provided you've a stray beer left somewhere in the house.

Mikados, on the other hand, are the most evil concoction of froth and sponginess put on this earth. Every post-menopausal aunt in the country must have some sort of compulsion to bring them when they go visitin. Not only does the pseudo-marshmallowy bit turn to mush on your fingers, but the coconut flakes get into the cavities in your teeth, and that disgusting gob of red jelly stuff quivers and congeals like a bloody snot. Yock.

  2. umm don't buy them then?

  3. It all depends on how you open the packet. Open it gently and you shouldn't have too much trouble. :)

  4. Since when did cream crackers become biscuits??

If you think they're biscuits then sure of course you're going to be disappointed.  Try putting a bit of cheese on top an ya'll change your mind!

  5. Good question =]

Nah, I think they are great with a bit of cheese on them.

If you are buttering them or spreading soft cheese, and they are breaking that way, the trick is to put them on a slice of bread first and they wont break =]

  6. We couldn't agree more. We reckon there's some fella in the Jacob's factory that goes round with a mallet and hammers the bejaysus out of the boxes of cream crackers.

He does the same with the Marietta......

  7. No, I don't agree, I keep a packet at work.

Sometimes I find the top one or two are broken, i think the secret is to pack them carefully when buying them, and don't drop them ;o)

why would you want to 'stick bits of cracker together'? they're only going to be broken once you take a bite of them.

btw I eat them dry :o)
