Aren't local weathermen the most useless members of the news?

Who cares about low pressure systems, a cold front, a high pressure system...I can tell how hot or cold it is by just going outside. They can't really predict weather, so what are they there for?

The weather is going to be what it wants to be. We have no control.

Of course we have no control. Forecasters make predictions about what the weather will be like, whether it is reasonable or not. Mid-latitude weather is always changing, which is why there are so many wrong predictions. The reason they are there is so that they can give people an idea of what they will wear, what they will do, and so on. If it wasn't for meteorologists, people would be wearing clothes not suitable for the change in weather. Forecasters are more important than what you or anyone else may think.

By the way, I think its funny when people wear shirts and shorts on a 80 degree day that drops down to 40 in less than half a day. That and people who say "Its not going to rain. The dude on tv is always wrong.", and then its raining buckets. Those are two great examples of what happens when people don't acknowledge the importance of meteorologists.

They're not even real meteorologists anymore..and they are NEVER right!! Our weatherman predicted 70 for today and it was about 85
