Aren't real Fish 'n' Chips just so FANTASTIC? I mean Fish 'n' Chips from a real British chippery (chippy), fresh succulent cod, crispy chips made from real British potatoes, all fried in lard, all drizzled with malt vinegar and salted. (And definitely not to be confused with American-style "fries".)

Mmmm ...

  2. I agree. the best Fish n Chips I ever had was in Whitby, Yorkshire, freshly cooked, I could hardly eat it all, the seagulls that followed me down the road knew what they were doing!

  3. I have never had them in Britain, though I have had them in Cape Cod.  I have never seen anyone serve them with french fries though....well with exception to Captain D's.

  4. No way, give me  good ol' fashioned American food . . . . French fries, Shredded BEEF burrito, Tortilla chips and HOT, HOT SALSA.

  10. Why is this in the women's gender studies section lol

  20. Ohhh Yess!

Get down to Bristol. There is a little chippy at the bottom of the Christmas Steps that do the best fish and chips in the world.

They have been there since the twenties and have served chips to celebs that have appeared at the near by Hippodrome and Coulston Hall, from Laurel and Hardy to the Beatles, and have the photo's to prove it!

Apparently, the McDonalds in the states is totally alien to the poxy little burgers and fries we get here...
