Aren't these contradictions of terms?

Why do they say "final draft" - how could something be final and be a draft at the same time?

And how about "original copy", is that really possible?

Could you think of similar contradictory terms that we use everyday?

  1. my favorite is "exact estimate"

  2. An original copy does not really refer to the copy but the source. It simply means that the copy was copied from the original, not a second degree copy, if you may (copy of a copy).

If, before a draft a "mock draft" took place, then the final draft would be the one to be executed.

What bothers me the most is the term "pre-board" that is used at airport gates. What? You get on the plane before you get on the plane?

  3. 99% Sure!

In documention, 'Final Draft' is the basis of the first official document. Or revision 0.

If it refers to a document, 'original copy' it is the official document itself. If it refers so something like a wrist watch, the term may not be applicable.

  4. Its call an "oxymoron" like the term "plastic glass"

  5.    We use the term "final draft" for a document that we submit for signature.

We use the term "draft no. x" where x represents the version number when we submit a document for comments / suggestions ( as to content / format / writing style ).

The "final draft" becames the original when the signature is affixed.

  6. What about getting your certification of Good Moral Character? It isn't a very rare request especially after the year-end culmination ceremony.

  7. a draft has no finality , it is made final only if it is ready for a sample copy but clients still sometimes make corrections which is cost inefficient when there is a sample copy done, which they should shoulder.

and when we refer to original copy, it is the sample we have to follow.

different forms of printing operators uses different terms.

    i find this statements conflicting

itaas ang sahod (raise the wages)

ibaba ang presyo (lower the prices)
