  1. I cannot imagine how someone can look beyond the behaviour of Harbhajjan Singh and maybe question the behaviour of Sreesanth?

Maybe we all need to get a transcript of player conversations, after the end of an International match, which I presume is far worse than Sreesanth said (for the record, he said Hard Luck, while smiling...)

Maybe we need to read again, what another Indian team mate, Youvraj Singh...

.. "This is really an ugly incident," Yuvraj said, "this is totally unacceptable."

Harbhajjan Singh's behaviour is deplorable. He does not deserve a place in the Indian team, he is not a good embassador for Indian cricket team

Now, we need to wait how:

    1. BCCI will react to this incident; and

    2. ICC will react, since this is a ICC sanctioned and recognized event

  2. If it's about Bhaji-Shree then I think if they both have sorted out then the matter must be shut out. As in future both will have to play together and any action would actually ruin the team spirit and respect.Obviously if any kind of ban is there on bhaji then he would start with the same thing in future with more feelings of remorse and aggressive with Shree. Until the whole matter is not clearified no action must be taken on any because it might be that Shree would have provoked bhajji as his nature is. It must not be seen as the present or with the side of IPL but future and Indian team must be seen.

I think by giving punishment we did be encouraging bad behaviour and dividation of team by punishing only the victim of provocation and not the provoker.

  3. Sree just told "HARD LUCK" thats it! I think Bhajji is insane......he needs mental treatment seriously! Players taunt each other in cricket and thats ok! Even Kapil Dev said that verbal battles are ok but slapping someone is ridiculous! Verbal battles always happens in cricket and every other game but what Bhajji did was unacceptable as Yuvi said! Bhajji is the only culprit and he should not be saved this time! Bhajji needs to understand his fault and he really needs to controll his emotions!

  4. Saying hard-luck is not a provoking act. Why should the

provoker be punished when he has mentioned a simple word.

Bad behavior needs to be curtailed and severely punished

when they cross certain line. In this case he is way beyond the

line and hence deserves to be punished heavily - I say a year

and add certain correction behaviors such as anger

    management classes.

If the provoker also involved in the act that could lead to the

physical act, then I agree some sort of punishment needs to

be there for him as well.

  5. What are you talking about???????

  6. Both should be disciplined.Bhajji is a very ill tempered person he needs council ling..

  7. Harbhajan must be penalized. Whatever the provocation, I don't think he should have slapped Sreesanth. When Sreesanth's team has lodged a complaint, why is Sreesanth downplaying the incident?

I kind of sympathized with this joker during the Australian controversy but this is the limit - Not only does his tongue, but other parts of his body need to be taught civility - He has shown very poor judgment and maturity and unprofessional attitude repetitively. Maturity is not apologizing after wards - it is making sure a farce does not happen in the first place.

There is no place for rowdyism in Cricket teams -

Regardless of who the player, this is IPL's moment to show strong precedent in its fledgling time to crack whip and rein in such unruly behavior

  8. its over and finished both have sorted it so calm down ...

  9. no

  10. I've seen Bajji has reacted in the same way to the opponents when India got the victory. So does Sreesanth.

So it is full fault on Bajji only.

Better ban these 2 for the sake of (INDIAN) cricket.

  11. Harbhajan has a HISTORY of misbehavior. He's misbehaved with his brothers from the Punjabi sect, his religious gurus, his opponents, the Punjab police, hotel staff, and if all this was not enough to satisfy his ego, he's actually gone ahead and smacked his own National teammate ! And no one can justify that.

As for punishing Sree, I don't think anyone in India found "Hard Luck" as some gross act of misconduct. Players say this to each other all the time but that doesn't mean to spank him for it. Harbhajan has got serious issues and only an idiot would back him this time. His backers might argue that Sree behaves badly and stuff. But temme that if you've been around with each in the national team for sometime now and claim to see someone's brother, it means you understand him. This means that Harbhajan understands the fact that Sree is a different person while bowling and different guy off the pitch. And this act certainly puts a huge question mark on the "team-spirit" of Harbahajan.

Aussies heckle each other while playing against each other. There are many funny videos of them sledging each other. But that doesn't mean they slap each other. Have you EVER heard Brett Lee, Stuart Clark, Shaun Tait being whacked by their teammates for being aggressive? NO.

Its about time someone taught Harbhajan to RESPECT people.

  12. Yes, that is encouraging bad behaviour by punishing the victim and not bringing the provocator to book.

The one who feel other way round can imagine what will happen provocating the police, a judge and even your own parents who in their right mind will give a due punishment to set the crooked brain right.

It is a sin to kill ones consciousness and not be truthful.

If the members of the own team are passing hurting remarks on their fellow players how are they supposed to win and how and why do they expect to be cheered up.

  13. Well! There is a saying " Violence is the Last Resort of the Incompetent"!!!

I guess Bhajji was incompetent to verbally give back whatever heckling Sreesanth did! Heckling and having some bad words against one another is one thing...outright slapping that too when the cameras are rolling is another.

Bhajji needs to be punished - whatever the provocation!!

Regarding Sree crying...well i sympathise, he could not have hit back coz then the whole world would have been against him even though he was defending himself. Also Bhajji is his senior and a surprise slap would have left the poor guy confused and the fact that he needs to restrain himself rather than hitting back would have made him feel powerless. Tears are okay!

  14. To meetend of justice and to avoid recurrence ofsuch incidents, both should be punished.

  15. Bhajji did not cry on TV, Sree did.

So all support the cry baby. People do not support bullys.

Lot will come out on investigation. It is sure it was not an innocent "bad luck".

But physical abuse should not be allowed.

  16. Yes, we are encouraging bad behavior by punishing the victim. Didn't Srresanth get slapped off field? Then why is BCCI suspending Bhajji? It's a personal matter.

  17. You are absolutely right!

Why don't the concerned look at what Sreesanth did to cause someone to slap him?

And why did the so called Match-Refree & later the arbitrator in Australia turned his blind eye on actions of Hayden / Symonds / Clarke / Ponting?

If we must punish, then punish the provokers as well.

  18. How can that be true?  In games like this, the parties should have strong willpower.  It is the only way to win the games and tackle the problems they have to face in the field.  Evenif somebody is trying to provoke a person, he/she should control themselves.  if the players lack this ability, they are not really fit to play that game.  it is just like a war.  The players should first learn to control themselves.  if they cant tackle some harsh word in the field, how can they tackle the entire game.  See, that is also a strategy of the opponents.  They exploit this weakness of the players.  first disturb them mentally and then win the game.  so provocation is not a crime.  But the culprit admits that he cannot handle that.  Then of course he's not fit for the game..he should be punished.

  19. Both Bhaaji & Sresanth are to be punished. As we all know both are badly behaved players. We have seen Harbajan & we can never miss sreesanth's glares that make him look ugly at times. We are a nation known for our  fine and good culture.

secondly aggression need not be ugly. How do we know that Sresanth only said "Hard luck". he could have said something very ugly and insulting during the match,  or after he took Khote's wicket which led to this slap. Harbhajan should not have slapped, nor should Sreesanth  have thrown sledges at the Mumbai Indian players. Both forgot the basic fact that they belong to one nation. It is like lying down and spitting on  one's own face. Moreover as the  Newton's law  in Physic says every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Let not Sree( who is not shanth in his   life) and Harbajan

forget this. Both are guilty, both should be punished, only then the  black mark on this great game of cricket can be wiped clean.
