Aren't we voting for obama because he is young and black?

Let's be true to ourselves, many of us are voting for Obama just because he is the new face in town but do we really know him, do we really trust in him. Is he really going to make a big difference, or is he saying all this speeches to get our vote. Think about it.

I'm not necessarily voting for Barack because he is black or because he is the new kid on the block.

Part of his appeal is because he is a phenomenal speaker, you can't deny that. But also he appeals to me personally because he doesn't seemed to be tainted by our corrupted system. He has a fresh optimism, and he's ready to start taking names and turn the white house upside down.

He isn't playing directly into the hands of the lobbyists and he has been outspoken about his opinions during his time in the Senate.

Even if another candidate was nominated the Democratic candidate I would still vote for them rather than McCain. Voting 90% with Bush just does not make me feel too secure about how he wants to guide this nation in the future.

I also want to note that I was raised by Republican parents and heard the Republican rheoteric before. And a Republican president can thrive under the right conditions (Reagan) but I don't believe the Republicans have the correct set of policies to guide our economy or our foreign policy.

I refuse to vote for him, but not because he is young and black.  I think his background sounds a bit fishy.....that's my reason for not supporting him.

-contempt for Blacks

-Stupidity by people who watch FOX

-Refusal to depart from an arcane way of thinking

-pity "He was a POW", cry me a river

-Religious fanaticism

-refusal to change a destructive trek to poverty as a country

-Bias: downplaying McCain's gaffes

-rank and file Republican supporters, no matter circumstances
