A dandelion field could look quite pretty. I think weeds get a bad rap.

  1. Yes.  A reasonable definition of a weed is any plant growing in a place where strange derived primates don't want it.  Some can be delightful surprises when left to their own devices.

Quite a number of gardeners now leave patches alone somewhere in the garden, and let nature do its own thing.  This is an insect-friendly option, and can be both instructive and entertaining.

The easiest way of treating moss in the lawn is as follows: conclude that moss is generally green and soft against the soles of the feets.  It feels very pleasant on summer evenings when walked upon.  Treatment, leave the moss to get on with things and, if desired, tear the grass out.

  2. ya weeds.....

  3. yes they are plants, and some of the most beautiful flowers and plants i've ever seen are considered weeds/pests

  4. Weeds are just displaced flowers and some are quite lovely.

    I do agree

  5. I think so too, but doesn't it figure?  We humans don't want things that come easily (like weeds). We want to coerce nature into growing what WE want, and so the battle begins. Give us the rare and exotic...the common just isn't interesting enough. Crazy, huh?

  6. Of course weeds are plants, its just that they are not very useful

  7. Yes, weeds are plants, and some of them are very beneficial to both people and animals, and to nature in general.  I, myself, don't mind dandelions in my yard, and would prefer that to the nasty chemicals that other people have applied to their lawn by either hiring lawn care companies to do it or doing it themselves.  Milkweed is another beneficial weed. Monarch butterflies depend on it for food and nesting.  Of course, there are other weeds that aren't so nice, but I have to agree with you, that weeds do get a bad rap.
