Government officials are putting a law on the ballot preventing non-married couples from adopting children. Who's really suffering here... looks like to me that the children are!!

I wonder what would happen if a non-married straight couple wanted to adopt or foster children?

... and what if a g*y/L*****n wanted to adopt their niece/nephew from their sibling who is not able to properly care for the child, or if the parents died in an accident?

Are they really thinking this through?

  1. You know where to place your vote next time.

  2. They don't understand!

What would be better? Kids moving from foster home to foster home or having a FAMILY that cares for them?

    Ugh, this upsets me.

  3. Hah, I do live in Arkansas and i do plan on adopting my nephew in the next couple years.

My sister has diabetes that she constantly has problems with and her health is always really up and down. If i don't get custody of my nephew within the next two years his father will get out of prison and take him. We can't have that.

I'm moving to California next year with my partner and my sister, along with my nephew.

Arkansas, thinking? I don't think so.  If my nephew gets stuck in the hands of a crack addict it will be this ignorant states fault.

  4. They're NOT thinking this through, they're so worried about g**s not getting married they forgot the whole point of why kids are there-- they need families. It's not illegal to be a single parent, so why can't a single person adopt? They don't even care about these kids or g*y people, just heir S****y religious morals that nobody cares about.

    EDIT:

They also said they need the importance of "mother and father" but what about single families? It's not like every dad is a good one, some are really crappy and a lot of dad's fail at  fathering, therefor they get put out of the child's life, I find that g**s have a better chance at raising good kids because they actually WANT A CHILD and not all heterosexual families plan on having kids, it's a surprise to them. This leads in the father/mother not being prepared and ill-treating their kids. When a g*y person adopts or even a single hetero that wants to adopt-- they know what they're getting themselves into.

  5. Its like that in a lot of states including Florida if you are openly g*y you can not adopt kids no matter the circumstances (you can foster children) you should know it is also LEGAL for 31 of the 50 states to fire you for being g*y. YES they can come up to you and say your g*y, your fired. and there is not a think you can do about it.

  6. Well what do you expect from a state that elected a nutjob like Mike Huckabee who wants to use the bible to run this country instead of the Constitution?

  7. that''s ridiculous! kids need homes and loving parents, g*y or straight, and married or not! it's unfair to the children. why do that to them? .....i'm speechless it pisses me off so much, it's just.... wtf?!?!?!!?

  8. It's frightening that people like those control the lives of ordinary citizens.

We (g**s) in Britain are very lucky to have legal rights and legal protection.  America is supposed to be a leading, free country yet it denies it's own citizens basic human rights.  It's heartbreaking really.
