Argentina Team describes Copa de las Naciones as a tremendous event
Legendary polo pro of Argentina, Facundo Pieres, in a delighting state declared the Copa de las Naciones (Nations Cup) as a marvellous event held at the Palermo Polo Cathedral Club in Argentinean city of Buenos Aires. Though it was not pretty similar to
Abierto Argentino (Argentina Open), but it was witnessed by hundreds of polo lovers around the country.
Facundo, the world number two player, lit the lamp eight times and made the victory possible in the crucial game. He while speaking to the media said that the event was up to the mark, as many fabled polo stars partook in the event.
Facundo Pieres along with his brother, Gonzalo Pieres, was selected to represent the Argentinean team, while Thomas Garbarini and Valerio Zubiaurre were among the other players. Considering the handicaps, the other two players demonstrated impressive game
on the field. Facundo was of the view that the combination of Zubiaurre and Garbarini played significant role in the victory.
Gonzalo Pieres, the junior brother, expressed that the Argentina team showed impressive work in a couple of chukkas and eased the way towards the victory. He further stated that it was a pressurising game, but they did not lose their temperament and focus.
Gonzalo Pieres explained, “To play here with the Ellerstina team is what one aims to do throughout the year, but playing for Argentina we have the pressure to prove we're the best, we have to enter the field and win, as a defeat is something very tough because
we Argentineans are the best. Luckily, we won."
Describing the match, he was of the opinion that the team of England demonstrated outstanding work in the first and fourth set of plays, adding that the game-suspense increased in the second last frame. However, the things swung around and they won the match.
He also declared Garbarini and Zubiaurre right preferences in the crucial game.
Valerio Zubiaurre, the five-goal handicap player, stated that it was a wonderful experience to play the game in most famous field of the word. Moreover, the company of Pieres brothers further enhanced the enjoyment and excitement, he added.
Explaining the match experiences, he was of the view that they started the game quite perfectly. Though the opponent, English side, followed them on the score-board, the equal handicap matches mostly ended in a close range margin, he added.
Thomas Garbarini, the fourth player of Argentina was of the view that the stiff defence and constant strikes were main reasons behind their victory. It was a complicated game and the English players gave tough time to them, he added.
The two-goal handicap player further said that it was great honour for him to represent Argentina and play with legendary players. He maintained that he would do it again if found chance.
