Argentina make three changes for Irish Test
Argentina have made three changes to their team ahead of the Test match with Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday 28 November.
The Pumas have made only one change up front to their strong forward pack. Flanker Julio Farias Cabello comes in for Miguel de Achaval.
In the back-line, winger Horacio Agulla will start in place of Gonzalo Camacho, while Marcelo Bosch replaces Santiago Fernandez. He will form a new partnership with Gonzalo Tiesi in the midfield.
Argentina were impressive in their 15-9 defeat to France in Montpellier last week and forward Cabello is called into the team after his substitute performance in the match.
Argentina beat Italy 22-16 the week before they lost to France and the team has improved on their performance, despite the French result. Speaking to the press, centre Tiesi said, "Against Italy we won but on the pitch we saw an Argentine team that did not
dominate much and played little with the ball and against France we lost but played better rugby. These are the differences that stand out, one for having won, which is the main objective, but looking to the long term we want to continue improving our game."
Argentina will be confident that they can challenge Ireland on Sunday, as a number of Irish players are missing after a bruising encounter in their 38-18 Test defeat against the All Blacks. "Maybe today Ireland are a small step above us, but we are confident
we can have a good match," said Tiesi.
Ireland will be boosted by the news that captain Brian O’Driscoll is fit to start the Test. Tommy Bowe, Stephen Ferris and David Wallace have also overcome their injury problems.
Argentina will aim to target the Irish pack, and having matched the French up front, they will feel that they should get the better of the Irish, particularly in the scrum.
