Argentina vs. Bolivia – Copa http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 2011 – Tactical Analysis (Part 1)
The match between Argentina and Bolivia took place in Stadium Ciudad de La Plata in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bolivia-c7828 which actually led
the game while Argentina came back from behind and equalized – all thanks to the Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero.
While http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gustavo-c15404 Quinteros played his men in the traditional formation of 4-4-2.
The Argentineans were arranged perfectly and each and every player featured in his favourite position – except Carlos Tevez. The Manchester City http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073 played in the centre forward position and
Lionel Messi played on the right wing. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid star Angel Di Maria was made to sit on the bench despite giving a wonderful performance on the left wing during the last fixture.
The inclusion of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 midfielder Ever Banega was added to the centre of the pitch
to add more strength into the midfield.
The full backs http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Milito-c14321 and Nicolas Burdisso did not perform at their best. Mascherano got most of the tackles right for the Argentineans and that is the basic reason
why they dominated possession in the midfield.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez. However, Tevez was mostly silent in the game. With Lavezzi later shifting to the right wing, there was
not a single Bolivian player who could match his pace.
The Bolivian centre backs were simply outstanding throughout the game, the goal they conceded was simply phenomenal and unstoppable; however, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronald-Raldes-c31719 could have done better while marking Ever Banega who chested the ball towards Sergio Aguero.
The midfielders Walter Flores and Jamie Robles found it hard to contain the Argentinean team; especially with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 star troubled the Bolivian team time and time again
by falling back and producing his magic.
The strikers barely got the ball and the goal the Argentineans conceded was basically a fluke pulled off by Edvaldo Rojas. The back heel could’ve gone anywhere and while Ever Banega was trying to control the ball, it touched the inner side of his foot and
crossed the goal line.
In the first half the Argentineans were all on the attack with the help of their three strikers – Lionel Messi, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Carlos Tevez. With Tevez mostly silent and Messi falling deep, it was all up to Lavezzi to find the back of the net. Messi
created numerous opportunities for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 man, but it was hard for him to score a goal throughout the game.
In Messi’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904, he had a flawless game. He was troubling the Bolivian defence timelessly and the only thing that he lacked was the combination between him and the two strikers playing alongside him. After the inclusion of Aguero and Angel Di Maria, the
game eventually changed because Messi is far more used to of exploiting the flanks with the help of his through balls.
Esteban Cambiasso was only providing the team with brute strength and no creativity. He even missed an open chance during the first half and there were no surprises when Angel Di Maria came on for Cambiasso during the second half.
