Argentina vs. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390 2011 – Tactical Analysis (Part 2)
It was a totally tactical change as the Real Madrid star was needed on the left wing. With Di Maria coming on the left wing, it meant that Carlos Tevez moved to the centre forward role. However, with Sergio Batista used to of fielding a 4-3-3, Lavezzi had
to move to the right wing with Lionel Messi stepping back into the attacking midfield role. With Messi in the attacking midfield, Ever Banega moved to Cambiasso’s centre midfield position.
With this formation, the Argentineans did manage to add pace to the wings but lacked the tackling that was being provided by Cambiasso in the midfield.
While the Argentineans were still settling in with the new format, the Bolivians won a corner and scored a goal. Sadly, it was Ever Banega who misjudged the ball and somehow managed to put it in his own net.
With a goal down, the Argentineans tried to attack aggressively towards the Bolivian http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jhasmani-Campos-c18490 was taken off and Jose Luis Chavez came on
to add more men to the midfield.
With this substitution, the midfield became overcrowded and it was hard for the Argentineans to find gaps in order to find a goal. Lionel Messi was moved far away from the goal and it was hard for him to find the back of the net. Lavezzi was being wasteful
on the right wing. Despite his exemplary pace, he simply couldn’t get the ball inside the 18 yard box and during his two-three runs; he tired himself up and couldn’t continue much longer.
The Napoli-man was then substituted by the Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero who totally changed the cause of the game. With Aguero on the right wing, it meant that there were two extraordinary dribblers on the wings and a perfect play maker in the attacking
midfield.
With Tevez up front, Argentineans were simply devastating in the attack. The South American Giants were playing four strikers and Ever Banega added up to the attack and made five men right around the Bolivian danger zone.
Soon Lionel Messi started to link up with Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero. A pass from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 saw Sergio Aguero being released right outside the box. It was Aguero’s first contribution to the game and his shot flew just off the target. However, it
brought in some hope for the Argentineans who looked frustrated after conceding a goal.
Soon, Lionel Messi was fouled 40 yards out of the danger zone. The Argentinean maestro quickly took the free kick and found Angel Di Maria on the flank. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid star delivered a perfect cross in for Ever Banega who easily chested the ball towards
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero. The Atletico Madrid striker made no mistake on the volley and slotted it perfectly at the top corner of the net. It was an outstanding goal which was to gift Argentina with at least a point.
After the first goal, it was all about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 while the Bolivians tried to stick to their strategy. They kept playing counter-attacking football and it did pay off at the end of the day as they managed to draw against a tough team like Argentina.
It was a tactically gifted game for the football fans around the globe. However, Sergio http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez while
Angel Di Maria should have featured on the left wing.
Lionel Messi should have stuck on to his right wing position while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 should have taken Ever Banega’s position in the midfield. That way the Argentineans could have easily changed the game.
On the other hand, Bolivians did a very good http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 sticking to their plans. The inclusion of another midfielder was one of the best substitutions made by them as it really helped the team evade the Argentinean strikers.
