Group A was to experience one of its more intriguing matches in the Copa http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Colombia-c2873.
Colombia, on the other hand, won their first match 1-0 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-Rica-c2877 despite their star striker Falcao failing to score. Colombia were now to be tested as the favourites to win the competition were to face them in one of the toughest matches of Group
A for both the sides.
The Argentinean coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Zanetti-c18096 played in the left back role and his
right back position was taken by the Manchester City player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Zabaleta-c29022.
The Argentineans played the same 4-3-3 formation. Despite the fact that all the players featured and structured themselves in the same way as they did in the first game against Bolivia, there was a tactical change up front.
In the first game, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez played on the left flank and often found himself cornered from getting the ball, this time he was given more of a central winger role. Ezequiel Lavezzi often fell to the right with Messi falling behind to collect the ball
from the deep while Carlos Tevez took the centre forward role. This way the Argentineans kept on switching positions in the front to confuse the opposition.
On the other hand, Hernan Gomez changed his favourite 4-4-1-1 formation which he played against Costa Rica to 4-1-4-1. There was obviously a tactical implication of “pressure play” in which many players surrounded one Argentinean midfielder in order to win
the ball back quickly.
The goalkeeper Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Camilo-c8287 Zuniga. With these four at the back, one defensive midfielder was played to add an extra man between the midfield and the defence
to hold the ball.  http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
Furthermore, two central midfielders were played. Carlos Sanchez and Enrique Aguilar played in the centre midfield. Two wingers who assisted the team while moving up and down the flanks were http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adrián-Ramos-c3755 featured up front
as a sole striker. The tactical change up front was the fact that Falcao fell to the left while Adrian Ramos featured as the sole striker despite Falcao’s outstanding goal scoring abilities.
As the game kicked off, the Argentineans looked to be in control. Zabaleta provided with the first threat as he crossed the ball into the opposition’s territory during the 7th minute but Perea was there to clear the ball to safety.
During the 17th minute, the Argentineans again came up with another threatening goal scoring opportunity when an exquisite cross from Cambiasso was punched away by the Colombian goalkeeper.
Falcao then provided the first threat for the Argentinean defence when he perfectly laid the ball off for Adrian Ramos but the Colombian man missed the target from 6 yards out.
Moreno got an opportunity of a lifetime when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Milito-c14321 misplaced a back pass and gifted it to Adrian Ramos. Ramos was taken down by Burdisso but Moreno decided to take advantage and shot the ball wide despite the fact that the goal was empty. This was
the best chance of the game and the Colombian man failed to take advantage of it.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073 with an outstanding defence splitting pass but Lavezzi couldn’t really finish the move with a goal as Martinez kicked the ball to safety.
It was desperation time for Colombia as both Falcao and Moreno attempted to find the net from long distance but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Romero-c33100 was on his toes and blocked both the shots perfectly.
As the first half came to an end, the Argentineans were still drawing the game goalless against the Colombians. Despite the fact that there were no goals, it looked to be one  of the most entertaining games of the Copa America 2011.
